Adventures in Walmart

Oh Walmart. Walmart, Walmart, Walmart.
Do not read this if you have a full bladder, or if you are eating/drinking anything. You WILL pee. Or spew. Or both.

First off, I really love senior citizens. Some of them are legitimately sweet. But today….
So this adventure starts off in the bathroom at Walmart. My mom and sister ditch me while I’m washing my hands because the air in there is polluted. Heavily.
This sweet old lady waddles in with a sense of urgency, slams the stall door, and from within the stall I hear this sickening SPPLLLAAAAHHTTTTPLTHTHBBB (the acoustics in these bathrooms are incredible). Instantly I am hit with this heavy, sticky stench. I can’t even describe to you what it was like. I felt like I was dying.  The room fills with this stench fog, and I don’t even know how I made it to the door. It’s all a blur.
I make it out, and through my stinging tears I find my mom and sister. They’ve already found their stuff (thanks for leaving me to fend on my own guys D: ) so we begin to make our way to the registers.
This is when we are hunted by the malevolent grandmothers.
I SWEAR, they were trying to corner us or something.  My mom and sister made their way through pretty well, but I kept getting run over, ran into, and one of them bruised my shin. It wasn’t just them though, there were younger, shameful people involved too.
I finally catch up with my sister and my mom. “If I get ran into, or ran over ONE MORE TIME….”
I never finished my sentence. You know why?
This huge motor cart starts backing over me.
So…. I lost it.
“I SWEAR IF I KEEP GETTING HIT OR RUN OVER OR KICKED…. I’M GONNA FLIP A SENIOR…. OH MY LAWD SHE LOOKS LIKE A WHALE.”
The whale remark was in reference to a magazine I had just passed with a pregnant Kim Kardashian next to the words “I EAT WHAT I WANT.”
My mom then proceeds to lose her crap. She starts giggling and snorting like Tickle Me Elmo, and by this time we have reached the long awaited registers. We’re all snorting and herrrrherrrr-ing, and the attendant is staring at us like we’re high or something.
We finally escape the death trap that is Walmart, and we proceed to lose it completely. We start snorting and HARHAHHHAARRRing and doubling over in the parking lot, and later when my mom tried to tell my dad she couldn’t get past the first sentence because she started laughing so hard her eyes started peeing.
I realize some of the things I said might have been a little rude. In my defense, I was stressed out and my feet were swelling from being ran over. However, I do apologize to the little seniors. And to Kim. It’s not her fault she looks like a whale.
I leave you all with this warning.
Beware the Walmarts.

Merry Christmas!!

Hey everyone! I'm aiming to post more over break, as now I'm not totally swamped with stuff to do. Wooo!!
Anyways, Merry Christmas to you all!
Let's use this time to be with our families, appreciate and love one another. I know the holidays can be crazy but lets try to embrace it. Also, use this time to remember and praise the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ; He's the reason for the season! A truly blessed time.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!
And if you celebrate something else, I hope you have a great holiday :)

Halloween

Alright, I know this is a day late, but yesterday was busy :)
So. Halloween.
For me, it used to be about getting the coolest costume, and convincing my parents to take me trick or treating as early as possible to get the most candy.
But sadly, this is not so anymore.
I stopped trick or treating when I was about 12, it was no longer super thrilling to me. I could just sit at home and watch movies, and eat candy out of the bowl we had for the trick or treaters (hehe). But this allowed me to observe my peers, and I'm sad over what I see.

Sadness 1) Halloween for teenage girls is about showing off your body, not your costume.
Whattt?? But why?! Why do girls take Halloween as a day to dress trollop-y? Because no one can complain about it, "it's a costume, not who I really am". But if you choose that costume, it reflects your heart, your personality. Plus, it's awkward and weird to be trick or treating with cute little 7 year olds in a dress that doesn't cover your bum. The sad thing is, if you go to a costume store, all they offer are revealing costumes. It's like they encourage girls to bare all, and that's demeaning and creepy.

Sadness 2) Mooching Trick or Treaters.
We've all had them. Those teens that show up in either street clothes or pajamas, hold out their bag and say "Uh... trick or treat" all while daring you with their eyes to either give them candy or face the wrath of teens with eggs and great aim. *shudders*
Or when someone leaves a bowl of candy, and one kid takes allll of it. That's not fair!! Go out and buy your own candy! Trick or Treating is supposed to be fun and you hogging it all is rude.

Well... those are the only things I have noticed/can think of that really bother me, since they're the top irritations on my list. What do you guys think?

P.S.- Here's what I did for Halloween

Bwahaha :D It's skull makeup for Dia De Los Muertos, I know it's on November 2nd but I liked the looks and decided it would be cool for Halloween. People at school said I look legitimately creepy. Goal made.

Underwhelmed

So....in the beginning of this month, I attended a christian summer camp:D I had a pretty FANTASTIC time. Well, I was just looking through my sermon notes and found something pretty convicting and I think I would like to share it with you guys:)

Our pastor said this (I'm pretty sure this is what he opened with, too): "...they became so familiar with God, that He was no longer overwhelming to them...they became UNDERwhelmed with God."

Now...who 'they' are, I can't really remember, but it was a point made for every highschooler and counselor in the room...that WE have become underwhelmed with God. We have had to memorize verse after verse, and read countless chapters of the Bible.(and, just so you know, those are part of the requirements to actually attend this camp)...have we become numb to the glory of the Living God because of our carelessness in our relationship in knowing Him? We learn ABOUT Him, but do we really understand His character? Who God actually is?? Think about that. What an awful thing we allow in our hearts. This state of lukewarmness. We should be so familiar with God that the fire burns greater, not fades. His love does not grow cold towards us. Us, the ones that don't deserve any of His love, grace, compassion, mercy, ect... So who are we to try to even claim the right to not to love Him? No one. That's who. We should be absolutely OVERwhelmed, knees to the floor, head bowed to the ground heart shattered pieces in awe and reverance to the Holy God. "God made Himself known in the cosmos" (another thing our pastor said and then used Genisis 1:1-5 as a reference). Mind=blown. Dude. That's incredible!!! Or the tides? Even they have their limits...how far they come in and go out...how strong they pull. Or the sunrise or sunset? Every. Single. Day. That alone is evidence of God's faithfulness. God is overwhelming. We should be overwhelmed.

Anyways....  I suppose that's all.  :)

Love,
Faith.

Hair Triumph Two!

Yay!! Another one so soon!
This time, I curled my lovely sisters hair :)
Seeee??

(Isn't she cuuute? :D)
So for this awesomeness, I used the Conair Youcurl. It's basically a curling wand. And curling wands are magical hair styling tools. They work sooooo good :)
If you use a curling wand and you like this, my tip is to start it waaaaaaay up top. That way you get maximum curlage through the whole strand. Also, use small strands. Like half an inch. They create more curls and it looks more fun :)

Hair Triumph Numero Uno.

Alright everyone! This is my first hair triumph :)
*sniffle sniffle* I'm... I'm so proud.
Anyways.
The gorgeous model seen today is my lovely sister. I like playing with her hair. A lot. Soooo... this is what I accomplished today!
(horrible picture lighting I know, I was using my cell phone :P)

Soooo... basically what I did is I started with her fringe on the left side, and I french braided it to like the end of her part, then just braided it straight down. Same on the right side, only I just started with the upper side hair since she has side fringe.
I'll probably post a How To French Braid guide later, since I realize not everyone knows how to French Braid. I only learned last month :D
By the way, this creation was inspired by Pintrest! That's where I first saw it :)
